Acceptance of terms

By downloading, installing, or using PrivPix (“the app”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

What the app does

PrivPix lets you inspect and clean metadata from photos directly on your device. You are responsible for the photos you choose to process with the app, including making sure you have the right to process and share them. The app is provided for personal, non-commercial use unless otherwise agreed.

No guarantee on cleaning results, no data loss

While PrivPix removes metadata such as location, device, and timestamp information from a photo, we do not guarantee that every possible identifying detail is removed in every case, as this can depend on the photo's format and how it was captured. What we do guarantee is that the underlying pixel data of your photo is preserved bit-exact — cleaning only strips metadata, it never alters, recompresses, or degrades the image itself. No photo data is lost as a result of using the app.

Live Photo and depth data

Some photos contain additional data beyond a single static image, such as Live Photo motion and audio, or depth information. Because this supplementary data can itself carry identifying metadata, cleaning a photo removes it along with the rest of the metadata, converting the result into a standard static photo. This is expected behavior: any Live Photo or depth-based effects will no longer be available on a cleaned photo. By using the cleaning feature, you acknowledge and accept this conversion.

Custom date feature

PrivPix offers an optional feature that lets you write a date of your own choosing into a photo's metadata instead of simply removing the original date. This feature is provided for convenience and is entirely optional. You are solely responsible for how you use it, including for the accuracy of any date you enter and for any consequences of presenting a photo with a custom date to others.

Purchases & subscriptions

Some features may require a one-time purchase or a subscription, billed through your Apple ID via StoreKit. Where subscriptions are offered:

• Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your Apple ID account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your device's Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.
• Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

All purchases are subject to Apple's App Store terms and refund policies; we do not process payments or refunds directly.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the app to:

• Process photos you do not have the legal right to possess or modify
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the app
• Use the app in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations

Limitation of liability

The app is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including reliance on cleaning results, loss of Live Photo or depth effects, use of the custom date feature, or interruptions in service.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
